Ctenanthe – What is this Plant?

Question:

I’ve had this houseplant for some time now and it is thriving, but I haven’t got a clue what it is. I’ve done some googling and nothing has come up, so I was wondering if you might be able to help?

Answer:
Your plant is a Ctenanthe. It needs lots of bright but indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight falling on its leaves will cause leaf burn. Keep it tightly potted and it will reward you with lots of new shoots emerging from the soil and may even flower. Water it thoroughly as soon as the surface of the soil feels dry. Avoid using hard water or over watering. Increased humidity will also help deter spider mites.

That said, yours appears to be very healthy so you seem to be on the right track as far as care goes.
