Question:

I was given a White Bird of Paradise for Christmas this year.  I have it in a east facing window.  The leaves are curved some, but know are beginning to get brown spots on them.  Am I not watering it enough?

Answer:

Without more detail about what your watering routine is and whether your White Bird was repotted, it is hard for me to advise you about watering. The curved leaves and brown spots could be from either over or under watering.

Assuming the plant is right in front of the window and the window is completely uncovered (no sheers) and the plant was not repotted, then it would need a thorough watering about every week or whenever the surface of the soil feels bone dry.
